The Daviess County Commissioners have set a new March 10 deadline for a coal company to complete a run-around road project on County Road 200 N, which has been closed much longer than originally promised. The commissioners also approved a grant for a bridge project east of Raglesville and a memorandum of understanding with Deaconess Hospital for the County Health Department to provide a shot clinic at the former Memorial Hospital Clinic north of Cannelburg.

Why it matters

The CR 200 N project has been delayed multiple times, frustrating local residents and officials. The bridge grant and health clinic agreement are positive developments that will benefit the community.

The details

Highway Superintendent Chris Winkler told the commissioners that the coal company responsible for the CR 200 N project had not met the original end-of-year deadline.
