The county has been working with consultants for nearly a year on the 'Elevate Porter County' initiative, which aims to address the county's 'most pressing challenges and brightest opportunities' through this planning process.

The details

The open house, called 'Charting Tomorrow Together', will feature exhibits, activities, and the chance for residents to directly engage with planning department staff. Some key issues the county has faced in recent years include renovations to county buildings, a new and more expensive ambulance contract, efforts to attract and block certain developments like data centers and solar farms, and ongoing challenges with road maintenance funding.
