North Vernon Main Street and the city of North Vernon are accepting applications for more than $2 million in funding the city is receiving to revitalize historic buildings downtown. Last fall, North Vernon was chosen as the 2025 PreservINg Main Street community, unlocking up to $2 million in grants to revitalize historic buildings downtown.

The details

According to the Main Street group, applications are now open for local building owners within the downtown historic district. They say that business owners can apply for funding assistance for transformational facade and structural improvements. Although construction grants won't be made available until next year, architectural work can begin this year. The work must be finished by 2030.
