The NFL announced its Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026, but without any representation from the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, four former Steelers players - quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, wide receiver Antonio Brown, running back Le'Veon Bell, and cornerback Joe Haden - are among the first-time eligibles for the Hall of Fame Class of 2027.
Why it matters
These four Steelers players were all dominant forces during their primes and could cement their legacies as football immortals with induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Their potential enshrinement would further solidify the Steelers' status as one of the NFL's most successful franchises.
The details
Roethlisberger, the Steelers' first-round pick in 2004, spent his entire 18-year career in Pittsburgh, throwing for 64,088 yards and 418 touchdowns, both top-10 all-time. He led the Steelers to three Super Bowls, winning two. Antonio Brown, a sixth-round pick in 2010, had a dominant six-year stretch from 2013-18, making four All-Pro teams and leading the league in receptions and receiving yards twice. Le'Veon Bell was a two-time All-Pro and three-time Pro Bowler, rushing for over 5,300 yards and catching 312 passes from 2013-17. Joe Haden, a three-time Pro Bowler, spent the final five seasons of his career with the Steelers after being drafted 7th overall by the Browns in 2010.
