The Million Meal Marathon, now in its 15th year, will return to Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on February 10, 2026, with the goal of packing 1 million nutritious meals for Indiana families facing food insecurity. Approximately 2,000 volunteers are expected to participate in the high-energy, two-hour shifts to assemble easy-to-prepare meals like rice casserole and macaroni and cheese.

Why it matters

The event responds to a significant need, as nearly 1 million Hoosiers face food insecurity. Organizers say community participation is increasingly important following recent reductions in SNAP benefits and rising demand since the COVID-19 pandemic. The packed meals are quickly distributed to families through local food pantries.

The details

The Million Meal Marathon is organized by the humanitarian food aid organization Million Meal Movement, which has provided more than 36 million meals to Indiana families since its launch in 2007. The event will include music provided by a DJ from the Indiana Pacers to create a high-energy environment for the volunteers.

  • The Million Meal Marathon will take place on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • The event has been held annually for the past 15 years.
