The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has awarded $179.8 million in federal transportation funding to 50 rural cities, towns, and counties for road, bridge, and infrastructure improvements across the state. Nearly $129.1 million of the funding will go toward rehabilitating or replacing 49 local bridges currently rated in poor condition. Additional funds will support pavement projects, sidewalks and ADA ramps, trails, and traffic safety improvements.
Why it matters
