Awaken RV, a new company founded by former nuCamp CEO Scott Hubble, has debuted its first product, the MorningStar fiberglass travel trailer. The MorningStar features an aluminum chassis, double-hulled fiberglass construction, and a high-end interior with real hardwood cabinetry and countertops. However, the starting price of $88,900 puts it firmly in the luxury RV category, despite Awaken's claims of targeting the 'middle of the market'.
Why it matters
The RV industry has been criticized for lacking innovation, with many manufacturers still relying on outdated materials and designs. Awaken RV aims to change that by bringing a fresh, European-inspired fiberglass design to the market. But the high price point may price out many buyers looking for a mid-range fiberglass camper option.
The details
The MorningStar features several premium components, including Dexter torsion axles, a GenY coupler, and a substantial fiberglass body with a smooth exterior finish. The interior boasts real hardwood cabinetry, woven vinyl flooring, and a full dry bath. It also includes modern features like a 12V refrigerator, ducted HVAC, and 500+ watts of solar power. However, the 15-inch wheels may be a point of contention for some buyers.
- Awaken RV was founded in September 2024 by former nuCamp CEO Scott Hubble.
- The MorningStar prototype was first shown to the public at the 2026 Florida RV SuperShow in January.

What they’re saying
“I'm a big fan of having a lot of windows to let in natural light, so you'll see that with these units. And I'm a big fan of the European caravan market, so I think you'll see some of those styling trends, because I wanted something that's visually pleasing.”
— Scott Hubble, Founder and CEO, Awaken RV
What’s next
Awaken RV plans to begin production of the MorningStar at its 17,000-square-foot facility in Apple Creek, Ohio, with an initial target of 200 units per year, before ramping up to 1,200 units annually.
The takeaway
The Awaken MorningStar represents an innovative approach to fiberglass RV design, with its European-inspired styling, high-quality materials, and modern features. However, the high starting price of nearly $90,000 puts it firmly in the luxury RV category, potentially pricing out many buyers seeking a more affordable mid-range fiberglass camper option.
