The Hospice Center in Columbus, Indiana has completed its first renovated patient room and family room as part of the ongoing Hospice Refresh Campaign. The $2 million campaign has now raised over $635,000 to modernize the facility and create a more comfortable setting for patients and their loved ones.

Why it matters

The Hospice Center is the only inpatient hospice facility in the area and one of just five in the entire state of Indiana. These renovations will help ensure the center can continue serving the community for years to come by providing a welcoming environment during end-of-life care.

The details

The first completed family room was made possible through a gift from John and Judy Kussman, while the first patient room was funded by a gift from Tom Dowd and Steph Cain. The family kitchenette was also updated thanks to a gift from Eric and Missy Neal. Donors were invited to a private open house on March 12 to celebrate the initial renovations.
