The Indiana Hoosiers will look to complete a regular season sweep of their in-state rival Purdue Boilermakers when the two teams meet on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette. However, ESPN's Basketball Power Index (BPI) currently ranks Purdue as the 9th-best team in the nation, while Indiana checks in at No. 27, giving the Boilermakers a significant advantage according to the computer model.
Why it matters
Indiana's lone ranked win this season came against then-No. 12 Purdue back on January 27, but the Hoosiers have struggled on the road, including a recent 71-51 loss at Illinois. Meanwhile, Purdue has won four straight since that January matchup and is up to a No. 7 national ranking, making the Boilermakers heavy favorites at home.
The details
Indiana has gone just 26-82 all-time at Purdue, and although the two teams have split the last 10 meetings, the Hoosiers have dropped their last two at Mackey Arena. Purdue leads the all-time series 128-94, dating back to their first meeting in 1901.
- Indiana defeated Purdue 72-67 at home on January 27, 2026.
- Purdue most recently won 78-57 at Iowa on February 15, 2026.
