Students from Zion Lutheran School in Staunton, Illinois recently took a field trip to Springfield to visit the Lincoln Museum and Lincoln Tomb after completing a unit on Illinois history in their social studies classes.

The field trip provided an opportunity for the students to bring their classroom learning to life by visiting historic sites related to Abraham Lincoln, who is one of the most important figures in Illinois and American history.

The fifth and sixth grade students spent the day touring the Lincoln Museum, which features exhibits on Lincoln's life and presidency, as well as visiting his tomb at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
