New digital library service offers e-books, audiobooks, and magazines at no cost to patrons.

The Staunton Public Library has joined Libby, a user-friendly mobile library app created by Overdrive. This exclusive membership allows the library to offer multiple digital copies of e-books, audiobooks, and magazines to its patrons at no additional cost. With a valid library card, Staunton residents can now access this new service to search for titles, create reading lists, and check out materials instantly.

Why it matters

The addition of Libby expands the Staunton Public Library's digital offerings and provides more convenient access to reading materials for residents. Libraries that have previously adopted Libby have seen increased usage and reduced wait times for popular titles compared to other digital lending platforms.

The details

Libby is only available to libraries that join the service and pay an annual fee. For Staunton Public Library patrons, there is no cost to access the Libby app and its digital collections. The library is located at 306 West Main Street, between the Staunton Post Office and the Staunton Police Department.
