The village of Skokie, Illinois is asking residents to help choose a new design for the official village flag. In March 2025, the Village Board adopted a new village seal, replacing the previous one used since the 1940s. Now the flag, which depicts the old seal, needs an update. After reviewing 79 submissions, officials have selected three finalist designs for the public to vote on through an online survey that closes on March 8.

Boar's design was inspired by the "Skokie Spirit" flame and the new village seal, while Dela Luna and Meyer's design incorporates nods to Potawatomi symbolism and local nature. The third design pays tribute to the indigenous tribes historically connected to the Skokie region.
