The city of Quincy, Illinois is planning several major road projects in 2026 to upgrade key streets and intersections. Work is slated for A Street Northeast, 13th Avenue Southwest around Lauzier Park, and M Street Northeast as the city looks to improve traffic flow and accommodate residential and commercial development.

Why it matters

Around Lauzier Park, 13th Avenue Southwest will be widened with a left-turn lane, and new streets R Street Southwest and T Street Southwest will be built to improve access. On M Street Northeast, the first phase will widen and upgrade the road east from Quincy High School, with a developer contributing to some of the improvements like sidewalks and streetlights.
