A cubist interpretation of the high-energy action on the baseball diamond as La Salle-Peru overwhelms Princeton with a complete team performance.Princeton TodayThe La Salle-Peru baseball team had its best offensive output of the season, scoring in every inning but one, and held Princeton to just two runs in a 10-2 nonconference victory on Saturday. L-P coach Matt Glupczynski was pleased with his team's 'complete game' performance, as starting pitcher Ceyton Urbanski and reliever Geno Argubright combined to limit the Tigers' offense.
Why it matters
The win was a much-needed boost for the young Cavaliers squad, which had allowed four or more runs in each of its first six games this season. Meanwhile, Princeton is still searching for its first win of the year as it works to clean up its defense and find more timely hitting.
The details
L-P scored in every inning except the fifth, led by a three-run double from Monti Lorenzi in the third inning that put the Cavaliers up 5-0. Princeton's two runs came in the fourth on an RBI single and an error. The Cavaliers then tacked on four more runs in the sixth to seal the victory.
- The game was played on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

Matt Glupczynski

Ceyton Urbanski
The starting pitcher for La Salle-Peru, who gave up two runs on two hits with two strikeouts in four innings.
Geno Argubright
The relief pitcher for La Salle-Peru, who threw three scoreless innings and gave up two hits with two strikeouts.
Carlos Benavidez
A Princeton player who walked, stole second, and scored on an infield single in the fourth inning.
Patrick Smith
The head coach of the Princeton baseball team.
What they’re saying
“I thought we played a complete game. I thought (Ceyton) Urbanski did a good job of setting the tone, pounding the zone and making sure they had to hit to get on. Offensively, we won four innings, we pushed one and they won one, so I was very happy with what we did offensively.”
— Matt Glupczynski, La Salle-Peru Head Coach
“It's a work in progress. We haven't hit the cover off the ball by any means, but I thought we put a lot of balls in play today and cut down on strikeouts a little bit. We have to get more timely hits. When we get guys on with two outs and have guys on third base, we have to drive those runs in. We just need more reps.”
— Patrick Smith, Princeton Head Coach
What’s next
The Cavaliers will look to build on this strong performance as they continue their season, while the Tigers will use their upcoming week of practice to try and clean up their defense and find more consistent offense.
The takeaway
This game highlighted the contrasting fortunes of the two teams - the young, rebuilding Cavaliers squad finding its footing with a complete team effort, while the struggling Tigers are still searching for their first win of the season as they work to shore up their fundamentals.
