Rivian has revealed details about its upcoming R2 electric SUV lineup, confirming pricing, specifications, and a rollout strategy for what could be the automaker's most important vehicle yet. The first R2 version arriving this spring will be a dual-motor Performance model priced at $59,485, with Rivian planning to follow with more affordable Premium and Standard trims later this year and in 2027.

The details

The R2 Performance model will offer 656 hp and an estimated 330 miles of range. Rivian also plans to introduce a $45,000 entry-level R2 model with over 275 miles of range by late next year. All R2s will come equipped with hardware supporting Rivian's Autonomy+ driver assistance system, which will be offered as a subscription service.
