According to police reports, 28-year-old Edwin Aponte Jr. of Bensenville was arrested after being involved in two crashes at the intersection of St. Charles Road and Route 83, as well as North Avenue and Route 83. Aponte fled from officers but was eventually apprehended and charged with possession of a stolen car, DUI, driving an uninsured vehicle, theft, obstructing an officer, leaving the scene of a crash, and several traffic violations. In a separate incident, 34-year-old Justin Quigley of Chicago was arrested on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and theft after a man reported his 2013 Kia Rio stolen.
