Mary Manis, a 93-year-old resident of West Frankfort, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Shawnee Senior Living in Herrin. Manis was a talented artisan who designed and crafted primitive Santas and other creations, holding over a dozen patents for her designs. She was also a frequent participant in regional craft fairs and took great pride in the history and upkeep of her home on Main Street in West Frankfort.

Manis was preceded in death by her husband Charles, two granddaughters, and several siblings. She is survived by three sons, nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and other extended family.
