The SIUE baseball team defeated Valparaiso 3-2 on Saturday to clinch their first weekend series win of the season. Ryan Niedzwiedz hit his league-leading eighth home run, and the Cougars got strong pitching performances from starter Spencer Stearns and relievers Porter Conn and Joseph Martin.
