In order for the top prospects like Arvell Reese, Jeremiyah Love and Mansoor Delane to reach their star potential, they need the right scheme to maximize their skill set. We took 20 of the top prospects and found the ideal team fits for them based on their strengths and weaknesses, organizational needs, schemes and coaching staff tendencies.
Why it matters
The 2026 NFL draft class is loaded with talent, but for these players to truly reach their full potential, they need to land in the right situations with teams that can properly utilize their unique skill sets. This analysis provides insight into which teams and schemes would be the best fits for 20 of the top prospects, giving fans and teams a better understanding of how these players could develop at the next level.
The details
We looked at a variety of factors to determine the ideal team fits, including player strengths and weaknesses, organizational needs, coaching staff tendencies and scheme fits. For example, edge rusher Arvell Reese would be a great fit with the Jets, as his ability to close the perimeter in the run game and pressure the quarterback would complement the team's defensive needs. Linebacker Sonny Styles' rare combination of size, speed and coverage ability makes him an ideal fit with the Titans and new coach Robert Saleh's defense. And running back Jeremiyah Love's versatility as both a runner and receiver would thrive in the Commanders' offense under new coordinator David Blough.
