Couples Marry, Renew Vows Atop Willis Tower Skydeck

Annual Love on the Ledge contest winners celebrate at iconic Chicago landmark

Published on Feb. 8, 2026

In a long-running annual tradition, several couples had the chance to exchange or renew their wedding vows 1,353 feet above the streets of Chicago at the top of the iconic Willis Tower on Sunday morning. The couples were the winners of the 10th annual Love on the Ledge contest, which awards the opportunity for a romantic ceremony at the Skydeck of the former Sears Tower, now the 25th tallest building in the world.

Why it matters

The Love on the Ledge contest has become a beloved Chicago tradition, allowing couples to celebrate their love at the top of one of the city's most famous landmarks. As the Willis Tower has lost its title as the world's tallest building over the years, the annual ceremonies help maintain the skyscraper's status as a premier destination for tourists and locals alike.

The details

The winning couples were selected through a sweepstakes contest held on Facebook and Instagram between November 11 and 9. Each couple enjoyed a 15-minute ceremony with romantic florals and decor, as well as a night's stay at the Canopy by Hilton Chicago Central Loop hotel across the street from the Willis Tower.

  • The Love on the Ledge competition has been held since 2016.
  • The ceremonies took place on Sunday, February 8, 2026.
