During the traffic stop, deputies discovered Dunigan was in possession of marijuana and crack cocaine. Further searching allegedly uncovered additional drug paraphernalia. Dunigan was arrested and initially charged with driving while barred, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense. An additional felony charge for possession of fentanyl was later added after the substance was discovered during the booking process at the Des Moines County Correctional Center.
