A 34-year-old man was taken into custody on Monday following a reported domestic violence incident involving a pregnant woman within the boundaries of the Nez Perce Reservation in Idaho. The victim, an adult female pregnant with twins, was assaulted near the railroad tracks along the Highway 7 corridor and transported to a local hospital, where she and the unborn children were determined to be stable. The suspect, James Gene Pierre, had recently been involved in a dating relationship with the victim and allegedly fled on foot, prompting a coordinated search by multiple law enforcement agencies before he was located and arrested the following day.
Why it matters
