Carbon High School baseball team goes 0-3 at annual tournament

Mar. 17, 2026 at 1:24am

The Dinos baseball team traveled to St. George over the weekend for an annual tournament, but struggled on the base paths, going 0-3 and bringing their overall record to 4-5 on the season. The team lost to Centennial Patriots, Pine View Panthers, and Silverado Skyhawks in the three-game tournament.

Why it matters

The Dinos had found early season success, entering the tournament with a 4-2 record, but the losses at the St. George tournament highlight the team's challenges with base running and offensive production against tougher competition.

The details

Against Centennial, the Dinos only managed 3 hits in an 8-0 loss. Pitcher Maddux Wilson struggled, giving up 8 runs in 2.2 innings. In the 10-4 loss to Pine View, the Dinos took an early 2-0 lead but a 5-run 4th inning by the Panthers proved too much to overcome. Logan Bennett and Jordan Nichols led the offense in that game. The final game against Silverado ended in a 1-0 defensive battle, with Jordan Nichols pitching well in the loss.
