Iowa FFA Officers Visit Mid-Prairie FFA Chapter

The Mid-Prairie FFA Chapter in Wellman, Iowa hosted two Iowa FFA state officers, Hannah Gross and Erica Driscoll, for a chapter visit in late January. During their visit, the state officers met with Mid-Prairie FFA members, discussed the three-part model of agricultural education, and led the students in leadership-building activities.

Why it matters

The Iowa FFA Association comprises 273 local chapters and over 20,000 students statewide. These chapter visits by state officers help connect FFA members to the broader agricultural education network and leadership opportunities available through the organization.

The details

During their visit on January 30th, Gross and Driscoll discussed the three components of agricultural education with the Mid-Prairie FFA students - the classroom for basic knowledge, FFA for developing personal and leadership skills, and Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE) for hands-on learning through work or an agricultural business.
