Despite graduating some key members from this year's squad, the Pella Christian girls basketball team is excited about the returning experience they will have next winter. The Eagles had 13 girls that started in at least one game or played in ten or more games this past season, and they will be losing just 3 of those players to graduation.
Why it matters
Pella Christian's girls basketball program is looking to build on the experience gained this past season and make a push for a stronger record next year. Retaining 10 players with varsity minutes will give the team a solid foundation to work with as they prepare for the next campaign.
The details
Head coach Jon Mumm says the remaining 10 girls gained valuable experience this season and he's excited about having 7 seniors next year. Several of the returning players have been on the varsity squad since their freshman year, so Mumm expects them to take another step up in their final season.
- Pella Christian finished the 2025-26 season with a 10-13 overall record.

Head coach of the Pella Christian girls basketball team.
What they’re saying
“We go in with seven seniors, a lot of talent, and a lot of experience there. Several of them have been playing since they were freshmen, so looking forward to them as seniors, I know that they're all going to take another step up, which will be great. So, the biggest thing for us is going to be keeping them healthy.”
— Jon Mumm, Head coach
The takeaway
Pella Christian's girls basketball team is poised for a strong season next year, leveraging the experience of 10 returning players who gained valuable varsity minutes this past year. With 7 seniors leading the way, the Eagles are optimistic they can improve on their 10-13 record and make a push towards the top of their conference.
