The PCM boys basketball team fell to Van Meter 66-36 on the road in the Class 2A Substate 3 quarterfinals. The Mustangs got off to a slow start, trailing 20-8 after the first quarter and 34-10 at halftime, and were unable to recover in the second half.
Why it matters
This loss ends the Mustangs' season after they finished the year with a 14-9 overall record. The early deficit proved too much to overcome against a strong Van Meter squad.
