According to Solon Fire Chief Bob Siddell, the box alarm at 4025 Crest View Road NE was first reported just before 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Solon firefighters were joined by crews from North Liberty, Swisher, Iowa City, Ely, and Mount Vernon, as well as the Johnson County Ambulance Service, in battling the blaze. The fire initially spread to a nearby structure, and Siddell confirmed that it ultimately reached two different buildings, including a house and a shed, causing damage to the siding of both structures.
