Veterans Affairs Director Ray Maxey, a 24-year Marine Corps veteran and former Marshalltown police officer, was appointed to the position in March of last year. County Engineer Mike Frietsch will ask the supervisors to set public hearings for the vacation of a right-of-way easement on South 28th Avenue West west of the Iowa Interstate Railroad crossing near Colfax, as well as a 28E agreement between Jasper County and the City of Monroe regarding Rodeo Avenue, also known as East Washington Street.
