Bo Brass, a 2015 Hampton-Dumont graduate, recently completed the 16-week Iowa Law Enforcement Academy program at Camp Dodge in Johnston. Brass joined the Hampton Police Department in April 2025 and spent several months training with department officers before attending the academy, which he says gave him a baseline understanding of responding to calls, interacting with the public, and applying relevant laws. Prior to policing, Brass served four years in the U.S. Air Force as a member of the Security Forces.

After graduating from Hampton-Dumont High School in 2015, Brass initially studied a different major at the University of Northern Iowa before switching to criminology and falling "in love with it." He then spent four years in the U.S. Air Force at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona, working in the Security Forces unit, which he says gave him "beginning experience" in law enforcement.
