According to police, Charles McDile became angry that the victim was visiting a friend in a nearby apartment that he was not supposed to be in. McDile allegedly came out of his apartment armed with a machete, pointed it at the victim, and the two got into a verbal argument. McDile then reportedly walked over to the victim, who retreated into his friend's apartment, and McDile swung the machete, making contact with the door. A short time later, McDile came out again brandishing a knife, confronted the victim, got in his face, and allegedly threatened to kill him multiple times.
