Fiala was a graduate of Solon High School and the Paris Academy of Cosmetology, and was the first hairdresser at the Solon Care Center. She was deeply involved in her community, serving as a member of the Solon Women's Club, the Solon Library Building Committee, and as a Blue Bird/Campfire Leader. Fiala is survived by her husband of 65 years, Terry Fiala, their three children, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

She graduated from Solon High School in 1956 and the Paris Academy of Cosmetology in 1959. On May 3, 1960, she married Terry Howard Fiala at St. Mary Catholic Church in Solon. Fiala was the first hairdresser at the Solon Care Center and was very involved in her community, serving as a member of the Solon Women's Club, the Solon Library Building Committee, and as a Blue Bird/Campfire Leader.
