Two Locals Inducted into IHSAA Hall of Fame

Two local individuals, Adam Viet of AGWSR and Justin Stockdale of Dike, will be inducted into the Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Hall of Fame. Viet was a standout basketball player who led his team to the Class 2A title game, while Stockdale had a long and distinguished career as a basketball and baseball official, working numerous state tournaments.

Adam Viet was a three-time all-state guard for AGWSR, scoring 2,100 career points and leading his team to the Class 2A title game as a sophomore. He also recorded over 500 rebounds, 300 steals, and 300 assists. Viet went on to play basketball at the University of Northern Iowa, where he was part of three NCAA tournament teams. Justin Stockdale, a 1993 graduate of Aplington-Parkersburg, began officiating basketball and baseball at age 19. He worked 33 state basketball tournaments, including 10 title games and 18 consecutive boys' tournaments, and also officiated in the American Rivers Conference in NCAA Division III. Stockdale has been a career educator and has served as superintendent of Dike-New Hartford since 2018.

He worked 33 state basketball tournaments, including 10 title games and 18 consecutive boys' tournaments, and also officiated in the American Rivers Conference in NCAA Division III. He has been a career educator and has served as superintendent of Dike-New Hartford since 2018.
