Gas and diesel costs rise slightly, while natural gas prices decline

According to the latest report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state rose four cents to $2.54 as of February 11, 2026. The national average also increased by five cents to $2.94 per gallon. Iowa retail diesel prices climbed eight cents to an average of $3.45 per gallon, though still 22 cents below the national average of $3.67. Natural gas prices were the only category to see a decline, falling 32 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site to $3.15 per MMBtu.
