The Iowa National Guard has announced official welcome home ceremonies for approximately 250 Soldiers assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division who are returning from deployment in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. The Soldiers recently began a phased return to the United States following the completion of their overseas mission.

The welcome home ceremonies are scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 11, in both Des Moines and Sioux City. In Des Moines, the ceremonies will take place at the 132d Air Wing at the Des Moines International Airport, with two arrival times at 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. A separate ceremony is scheduled for Sioux City at the Ascension FBO Network at 1:45 p.m. While some Soldiers have already returned as part of the phased redeployment, others remain overseas to complete essential mission requirements.
