Iowa Fuel Prices Dip Slightly in Latest Report

State gas and diesel prices down from last week and year-ago levels

According to the latest report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa, fuel prices in the state were down slightly as of February 4, 2025. The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $2.50, down five cents from the previous week and 39 cents below prices from a year ago. Iowa retail diesel prices also fell three cents to $3.37 per gallon, five cents below the 2025 average at this point in the year.

Turning to heating fuels, propane prices were up three cents to $1.62 per gallon, while home heating oil rose eight cents to $2.92 per gallon. Natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site were down $1.02 to $3.85 per MMBtu.
