What they’re saying

“It kind of slipped my mind that the results were coming out that day. I was just sitting in my room and I got a text from my coach and then I went from 0 to 100. I was super excited, I sprinted upstairs to tell my parents and they were obviously very excited for me. It was just kind of funny because I went from not expecting it at all to realizing I had gotten this super big accomplishment and that was just so fun to experience.”

— Haley Nelson

“I was like 'oh my gosh, this can't be real.' I checked the page and I was there and I started tearing up, I was really happy. I didn't start speech until my junior year, it was something very new for me. So being able to take this next step and see how far I've come since then, has just been very surreal for me.”

— Jaeley Doll

“It just felt really special to me. This is something that I've really been looking forward to from my time in individual and large group speech and I'm really happy that I was able to make it this far.”
