The UIC Flames women's basketball team (14-14, 9-8 MVC) travels to Cedar Falls, Iowa, on Saturday, February 28th, to face the UNI Panthers (14-13, 10-7 MVC) at the McLeod Center. UIC is coming off a 66-53 victory over Bradley, led by senior Jessica Carrothers' 18 points, while UNI defeated Valparaiso 92-54 in their last game.
Why it matters
This is the final road game of the regular season for the Flames as they look to improve their Missouri Valley Conference standing ahead of the conference tournament. The Flames narrowly lost to UNI earlier this season, 75-74, so this is an opportunity for UIC to avenge that defeat against a key conference rival.
The details
The Flames will need strong performances from leading scorer Jessica Carrothers as well as redshirt sophomore Julia Coleman, who secured her team-leading seventh double-double of the season in the win over Bradley. UNI is led by sophomore Elise Jaeger and senior Ryley Goebel, who is the MVC's leading shot blocker.
- The game is scheduled for Saturday, February 28th at 1 p.m. (CT).
