South Effingham sophomore Brooklynn Hughes was the only girls wrestler from the Greater Savannah area to earn a state medal this season, finishing fourth at the GHSA Girls State tournament. She was the first girls wrestler in South Effingham history to win an Area title. Other top performers included Savannah Jenkins' Chloe Nicholson and Jaila Speaks, as well as Richmond Hill's Liliana Flacksenburg and Peyton Morgan. South Effingham head coach Analynn Bringer was named the All-Greater Savannah Girls Wrestling Coach of the Year.
