Saint-Gobain subsidiary CertainTeed Roofing has completed a more than $100 million expansion at its manufacturing plant in Peachtree City, Georgia, doubling the facility's production capacity. The project is expected to increase the supply of roofing shingles across the fast-growing Southeast, where housing demand continues to rise.
Why it matters
The expansion reflects Georgia's business-friendly climate and the continued growth of the state's manufacturing sector. It also highlights the increasing demand for building materials as the U.S. faces a projected shortage of 4 million homes by 2030, including over 365,000 in Georgia.
