The Atlanta Falcons have signed more than a dozen free agents in the first 10 days of the 2026 NFL offseason, adding a mix of veteran and young talent to the roster. The new players come from a variety of backgrounds, including a Stanford-educated punter, a motivated wide receiver looking to showcase his skills, and a long-tenured kicker eager to keep playing.
Why it matters
The Falcons are looking to rebound from a disappointing 2025 season and build a competitive roster under new head coach Kevin Stefanski. These free agent signings provide depth, experience and potential playmakers on both sides of the ball as the team aims to return to the playoffs.
The details
The Falcons' free agent haul includes players like punter Jake Bailey, wide receiver Jahan Dotson, defensive end Samson Ebukam, kicker Nick Folk, defensive tackle A'Shawn Hand, linebacker Christian Harris, offensive lineman Aaron Levin, edge rusher Azeez Ojulari, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, linebacker Channing Tindall, defensive end Chase Thomas, and wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus. The contracts range from one to three years in length, with varying amounts of guaranteed money.

The players
Jake Bailey
A seven-year NFL veteran punter who has a private pilot's license and a Stanford education. He made the All-Pro team in 2024 after averaging 45.6 net yards per punt.
Jahan Dotson
A wide receiver who was a first-round pick in 2022, but has been overshadowed by other young stars in his first four NFL seasons. He is 'extremely' motivated to prove himself in Atlanta as the team's likely No. 2 receiver behind Drake London.
Nick Folk
A 41-year-old kicker who is 50th all-time and 8th among active players in NFL games played with 258. He is 431-of-507 on field goals in his career and made a 58-yard career long last year.
Tua Tagovailoa
The former Alabama quarterback who has been one of the NFL's most accurate passers over the last three seasons, getting the ball out of his hands quickly.
Olamide Zaccheaus
A wide receiver returning to the Falcons after the most productive back-to-back seasons of his career, catching 84 passes for 819 yards over the last two years.
What they’re saying
“Having a good relationship with your holder is big for me.”
— Nick Folk, Kicker
“I was a first-round talent, a guy who had a lot of success in college, a guy who had success in Washington without that many opportunities. I feel like I have been holding all this in the last couple of years. I'm ready to show the world what I can do.”
— Jahan Dotson, Wide Receiver
“I'm just excited to still be doing it. Still training week in, week out, and excited for what I can do and what I can bring. The most important kick is the next one.”
— Nick Folk, Kicker
“We're going to work really hard. We're going to work hard together. He expects a lot out of us, and he's really going to make us come together as a group. In Tennessee, we became a pretty tight-knit group. He had a big part to do with that.”
— Aaron Levin, Offensive Lineman
“I'm just trying to come here, be the best teammate I can, whatever I can do to help this team win and play my best ball. I'm feeling good, ready to attack this year.”
— Azeez Ojulari, Edge Rusher
What’s next
The Falcons will continue to evaluate their roster and make additional moves as they prepare for the 2026 NFL Draft in April.
The takeaway
The Falcons have brought in a diverse group of free agents with a mix of veteran experience and young potential. This infusion of talent across the roster should provide depth and competition as the team looks to bounce back in 2026 under new leadership.
