A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 7th for Gwinnett County Police Officer Pradeep Tamang, who was killed in the line of duty on February 1st while responding to a call. The service will take place at 12Stone Church in Lawrenceville, Georgia, and the public is invited to attend and pay their respects. Officer Tamang, who immigrated to the U.S. from Nepal 10 years ago, joined the Gwinnett County Police Department in 2024 and graduated from the police academy in 2025. He is survived by his fiancée and family in Pennsylvania.

Officer Tamang was killed in a shootout that occurred while he and Master Police Officer David M. Reed were responding to a credit card fraud call at a Holiday Inn Express in Stone Mountain. Officer Reed was also critically injured in the incident. Tamang had joined the Gwinnett County Police Department in July 2024 and graduated from the police academy in May 2025.
