First Presbyterian Church of LaGrange is now accepting applications for the next round of the Jan Stewart Tolbert Community Grants, which provide up to $2,500 to support local nonprofit organizations in launching new programs or expanding existing services. The grants are designed to strengthen the impact of 501(c)(3) nonprofits across the LaGrange community.

Why it matters

The Tolbert Community Grants aim to empower local nonprofits and expand their reach in the LaGrange area, addressing community needs through new or enhanced programs. The grants are named after the Rev. Jan Stewart Tolbert, a former associate pastor at First Presbyterian Church who was passionate about community mission work.

The details

Grants are awarded once per year and cannot be used for operational expenses. Organizations may apply annually until their project is funded, but must wait three years before applying again after receiving a grant. Upon completion of the grant, recipients are required to submit a report outlining how the funds were used and the impact of their project.

  • The application process is now open, with submissions due by June 1, 2026.
  • Grants will be awarded for the 2026 calendar year.
