Georgia Tech has added former Troy forward Victor Valdes to its roster. Valdes, an All-Conference forward, will be following his former head coach Scott Cross to Atlanta to play in the ACC. Valdes averaged 14.8 PPG, 4.5 APG, and 4.0 RPG last season and is expected to be an immediate impact player for the Yellow Jackets.

Why it matters

The addition of Valdes, along with transfers Tylis Jordan and Moustapha Diop, significantly bolsters Georgia Tech's roster ahead of the upcoming season. Valdes' scoring ability and experience should help the Yellow Jackets compete in the tough ACC conference.

The details

Valdes is a 6'7" 235 LBS forward who had a breakout season at Troy, averaging 14.8 PPG, 4.5 APG, and 4.0 RPG while shooting 40% from the field.
