Pittsburgh Yards has completed its outdoor container courtyard, which now houses 11 businesses, including six food and beverage operators such as Urban Grind Brew Box, The Creamy Spot, and Coffyn Pyes. Located near the entrance to the Southside Beltline, the container courtyard is part of the larger Pittsburgh Yards development that has grown to over 200 businesses across 15 acres in one of Atlanta's historically Black neighborhoods.
Why it matters
The Pittsburgh Yards container courtyard represents an innovative approach to small business development, providing affordable retail and restaurant spaces in a neighborhood that has seen significant redevelopment in recent years. The container courtyard sits at the southern edge of the larger Pittsburgh Yards development, which has grown to over 200 businesses across 15 acres.
- The container courtyard took shape over roughly two and a half years, with Fortas Homes placing the first container in August 2023.
- Pink Pothos became the first consumer-facing business to open at the container courtyard in October 2024.
