Lumiere Lounge in Atlanta is launching a new interactive Jazz Talk series in partnership with the Jazz At The Strand program, featuring KSU Professor Trey Wright. The first event on February 12, 2026 will focus on the making of Miles Davis' iconic album "Kind of Blue", followed by talks on Cole Porter, the Dave Brubeck Quartet, and a duo performance by Wright and saxophonist Mace Hibbard.

The details
The Jazz Talk series will take place monthly at Lumiere Lounge, with the first event on February 12 focused on the making of Miles Davis' landmark 1959 album "Kind of Blue". The remaining talks will cover the genius of Cole Porter on March 12, the legacy of the Dave Brubeck Quartet on April 9, and a duo performance by Trey Wright and saxophonist Mace Hibbard on May 14. Each event will include a drink ticket for attendees, with doors opening at 7pm and the presentations starting at 7:30pm. Seating is limited to 30 guests, and the events are open to those 21 and older.

A jazz guitarist, composer, and recording artist based in Roswell, Georgia. Wright spent his formative years performing with the jazz quartet Squat in Athens, which was a six-time winner of Best Jazz Band at the Flagpole Athens Music Awards.

A saxophonist who will perform in a duo with Trey Wright as part of the Jazz Talk series on May 14, 2026.
