On Sunday, Officer Pradeep Tamang and Cpl. David Reed were called to a Holiday Inn Express off Park Place Boulevard in Stone Mountain, where Andrews was suspected of fraudulently renting a room. When the officers discovered Andrews had an arrest warrant and tried to arrest him, Andrews allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired, hitting both officers. Tamang died from his injuries, while Reed was seriously hurt. Andrews had non-life-threatening injuries.
