Gwinnett County Police identified the officer killed as 25-year-old Officer Pradeep Tamang, who joined the department in 2025. The other officer, Cpl. David Reed, was seriously injured. At some point during the conversation, 'the suspect produced a handgun and in an unprovoked attack, fired at our Gwinnett County police officers.' Both officers were struck by gunfire, and Andrews also sustained non-life-threatening injuries after the officers fired back.
