The Monroe High School girls basketball team claimed their second straight region championship with an 80-31 victory over Westover High School. After falling behind early, Monroe responded with a big run to take control of the game and never looked back, using their relentless pressure defense to force turnovers and create transition opportunities. From there, Monroe's full-court pressure defense began to suffocate Westover, creating turnovers and transition opportunities. Monroe led 36-14 at halftime and continued to pull away in the second half, leading 61-28 after three quarters.
