Milwaukee Brewers fans might rightfully stay upset about the Freddy Peralta trade for a while, but that doesn't mean they can't love the guys they got back. Shortstop/utility player Jett Williams, one of the two pieces the Brewers got from the New York Mets in exchange for Peralta and fellow righty Tobias Myers, is excited to join the Brewers and their scrappy, high-energy playing style.

Why it matters

The Brewers are known for doing more with less, constantly finding young talent to help the team in the years to come. Williams, a 23-year-old prospect, seems to fit the Brewers' identity perfectly and could make an immediate impact.

The details

Williams sounded off on his fit with the Brewers, saying "Looking from top to bottom of the lineup and the way they play, it's a bunch of short guys that are a little bit scrappy. So, it's similar to me. The way they play the game is similar to how I play." He even described how he fits the mold of manager Pat Murphy, who has coached a ton of shorter, high-energy players. The Brewers are still deciding if Williams will play shortstop full time or take on more of a utility role, as he's capable at second base and center field.
