Three-star linebacker details his latest trip to Durham and bond with Blue Devils coaches

Three-star linebacker Tripp Keller of Tampa, Florida’s Jesuit High School recently visited Duke University and came away with a scholarship offer from the Blue Devils. Keller, ranked the No. 56 linebacker in the country, met with head coach Manny Diaz and defensive coordinator Jonathan Patke, sitting in on team meetings and watching practice.

Why it matters

Duke is looking to bolster its linebacker corps and has identified Keller as a top target. The Blue Devils are competing with other schools to land the 6–3, 200-pound prospect, who has emerged as one of the top defensive players in the talent-rich Tampa Bay area.

During his visit, Keller said he “really enjoyed talking with Coach Diaz” and also spent time with Patke, watching film in the linebacker room. The Blue Devils have extended a scholarship offer to Keller, who is considering Duke along with several other programs.
